At least six people, including four children, were injured in an explosion in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar on Tuesday.
Bilal Ahmad Faiz, spokesman for emergency rescue services, said an improvised explosive device (IED) went off on a busy road in the city at 9:10am.
A senior police official said the explosives weighing four kilograms were concealed in a cement block. He added police had launched a search operation in surrounding areas.
Two of the children were in critical condition, said Mohammad Asim, a spokesman for the Lady Reading Hospital.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
Windows of a nearby building and windshields of two Suzuki vans were shattered due to the intensity of the blast.
