About 354 Afghan nationals have reached Canada on a charter flight from Pakistan, says Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
IRCC wrote on its X handle: “Today, Minister Miller welcomed 354 Afghan nationals to Halifax on a charter flight from Pakistan. They will continue their journey to approximately 26 communities across Canada, including Calgary, Fredericton and Ottawa.”
According to IRCC, Canada has met its goal of welcoming at least 40,000 refugees and vulnerable Afghans since August 2021, and work continues to process eligible applications already received.
Last week, 295 Afghan nationals have arrived in Toronto on a charter flight from Pakistan.
