Security forces have rescued passengers from a bus after it was swept away by floodwaters in Shindand district of western Herat province on Tuesday.
In a statement, the 207 Al-Farouq Army Corps in western Afghanistan said that at around 3:00 a.m. today, a 580-model passenger bus in the Azizabad area of Shindand district was hit by flash floods, causing it to veer off the road and overturn into a water basin.
The statement added that troops from the 1st Battalion of the 207 Al-Farouq Army Corps, who were stationed near the site, rushed to the scene and launched an immediate rescue operation using available resources, successfully saving all the trapped passengers.
