Online facility helped promote Kabul businesses

Some business owners in capital Kabul have hailed improvement in business activities after the provision of online facility and said the number of their customers had increased recently.

Zarghoona Ibrahimi, the owner of a garment shop in Kabul said she started Afghani clothes business seven years ago.

He explained from the past seven months she registered her business in a technology firm and opened her online shop.

Zarghoona said she was happy with the provision of online business facility and termed it a big boost for businesses.

“There is huge change and big facility had been provided,” she said.

She said people who online purchase their products are mostly from foreign countries.

Basharat Farotan, director of a handicraft company in Kabul, said she worked in a painting, designing and art.

She said after regime change, their businesses were not doing well but recently the situation had improved and their businesses are doing well.

She said online business has good income and a large number of customers are attracted through this way.

Farotan noted that their orders from foreign countries had improved and online business had left positive impact on their businesses.

Engila, one of the factory’s workers, said their business was doing well and from the past six months she had been working in painting.

She said that after learning this art she planned to start her own business.

Sameera Gohari, spokesperson of an IT company, told Pajhwok Afghan News their company provided online business facilities for businesses.

The purpose behind the provision of online business facility was to promote business and original Afghani handicraft and art products.

Gohari said they put different types of Afghani clothes such as Gand-i-Afghani, handicraft products and others in their website and search for customers.

She added over 232 different brands most of which are owned by ladies are working with them and it resulted in the generation of over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs for women.

Akhundzada Abdul Salaam Jawad, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, said the ministry fully supported all investors and entrepreneurs.

He said generally, they supported big and small investors and facilities their activities.

He said investors who faced problems should visit the commerce ministry where their problems could be addressed.
