The United States has reversed its decision to suspend legal aid for immigrant children, once again authorising legal services for thousands of unaccompanied minor refugees, a media report said on Sunday.
The Associated Press reported: “The Trump administration told the groups that they can resume providing legal services to tens of thousands of unaccompanied children”.
The notice came after the government on Tuesday suspended the programme that provides legal representation to children who have arrived in the US across the border with Mexico without parents or legal guardians.
Some supporting institutions had criticised the measure and explained at the time that minors were at risk.
The decision was expected to affect 26,000 immigrant children who came to the US without their parents.
