Pakistani closed the Torkham crossing for all types of movement today (Saturday), an official announced.
Nangarhar police spokesman Syed Tayeb Hammad told Pajhwok Afghan News the crossing was shut this morning.
He said the reason for the closure of the busy route had not been assigned by the neighbouring country so far.
The police official urged people to avoid travelling to Pakistan via Torkham until further notice.
Located on the Durand Line in eastern Nangarhar province, the crossing serves as a major transit and transport route with Pakistan.
Torkham is often closed by Pakistani authorities due to the issues faced by Afghans and other unknown reasons.
