At least 10 people have been killed as a result of heavy flash floods and rains in the United States, a media report said on Monday.
CNN reported: “In Kentucky, where flooding inundated roads and homes, at least nine are dead.” Governor Andy Bashear said: “Emergency responders are now in a search and rescue phase and have performed over 1,000 rescues in under 24 hours.”
Separately, officials said one person died in Georgia State.
The toppled trees, vehicles submerged in floodwaters and inundated houses. Roads, businesses and homes were flooded in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia.
Two years ago, catastrophic flooding had left 43 people dead, devastating parts of the state.
