Afghanistan’s young spin sensation AM Ghazanfar has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy due to a fracture in the L4 vertebra, specifically in the left pars interarticularis.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) says Ghazanfar sustained the injury during Afghanistan’s recent tour of Zimbabwe.
He will be sidelined for at least four months and will remain under medical supervision during his recovery.
In his absence, Nangyal Kharoti, previously part of the reserves, has been promoted to the main squad for the Champions Trophy.
Meanwhile, Mujeeb Ur Rahman remains unavailable for ODI action as he continues to recover from a finger injury.
