The incoming US president has pledged unilateral action to launch mass deportation operations and reduce environmental regulations.
He would act with “historic speed and strength” in the hours after returning to the White House on these issues, the BBC quoted Donald Trump as telling a victory rally in Washington DC.
After his inauguration, Trump may sign over 200 executive actions, including orders, which are legally binding, and proclamations.
He also promised: “Every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration will be repealed within hours of when I take the oath of office.”
Earlier, sources in American TV channel said to round up and deport illegal migrants in the US would begin on the first full day of Trump’s presidency.
Deportations will start in Chicago, a city with a large migrant population, as early as Tuesday. Similar operations are on the cards in New York, Los Angeles, Denver and Miami.
He is also expected to order the availability of records related to the assassination of John F Kennedy in 1963 and instruct the military to create an Iron Dome missile defence shield.
While pledging to return control of education to America’s states, the Republican leader said he would stop transgender women from competing in female sports categories.
Due to severe weather conditions, Trump’s swearing-in ceremony has been relocated indoors into the Rotunda of the US Capitol.
On Monday, the temperature is predicted to be about -6C (22F) at noon local time, when the oath-taking will happen.
