On the occasion of International Migrants Day, the European Union has said it stands with Afghan migrants, internally displaced persons, and returnees, providing support in areas such as education, employment, and improving their economic situation.

On X, the block wrote that every individual has the right to live in a safe and secure place.
The EU also reiterated its commitment to standing with Afghan migrants, displaced persons, and returnees, supporting them in the fields of education, employment, and improving their economic circumstances.
The International Organization for Migration, on the occasion of this day, announced that in the upcoming year, it will assist 101 million people in 170 countries.
The agency cited climate change, wars, and poor economic conditions as the primary reasons for migration, adding that the previous year saw an unprecedented increase in the number of displaced persons worldwide.
According to reports, around five million Afghan migrants are in Iran, three million in Pakistan, and about one million Afghan migrants are residing in European countries.
