Afghanistan defeated hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) by eight wickets at the ICC Academy Ground on Sunday and reached the final of the tri-nation One-Day International cricket series.
UAE won the toss and elected to bat first. UAE were off to a shocking start as they lost wickets at regular intervals, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) wrote on its Facebook page.
The hosts were bundled out for just 89 runs in the 37th over.
For Afghanistan, Naseer Khan Marofkhel grabbed three wickets, while Abdul Aziz Khan, Rahullah Arab and Khatir Khan Stanikzai chipped in with two scalps each.
In reply, the national squad chased down the target in the 22nd over with eight wickets in hand.
Afghanistan U-19 will meet Pakistan U-19 in the final on November 26.
The series is aimed to help the participating teams prepare for the ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2024, which will be played in December.
