Ten worshipers have been killed in an armed attack in the Nahrin district of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Friday.
A resident of the locality on the condition of anonymity said worshipers in the Sayed Pacha Mosque were attacked last night.
He said: “Worshipers in a shrine were attacked, every Friday night people gather in this place, exact figures was not available about casualties.”
Interior Ministry’s Spokesperson Abdul Matin Qani confirmed the attack to Pajhwok Afghan News.
“Some Ahli Tasawof people had gathered for worship in a remote area of Nahrin district was attacked which resulted in the killing of 10 worshipers,” he said.
Baghlan Police also confirmed the attack on worshipers but added that details would be shared after investigations.
