Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan have surged during the current financial year, The News International reported on Saturday, citing official sources.
In September, Pakistani exports to Afghanistan jumped by 94 percent on an annual basis and by 44 percent on a monthly basis.
Exports to Afghanistan in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, July to September, soared by 59 percent, the newspaper said.
The volume of exports to the neighbouring country in September was recorded at 12.8 million dollars, compared to 6.6 million dollars in September 2023.
In August this year, exports to Afghanistan amounted to 8.9 million dollars.
Exports to Afghanistan from July-to September 2024 worked out at more than 32 million dollars, compared to 201.3 million dollars during the same period last year.
On the other hand, imports from Afghanistan during the July-September quarter accounted for 151.7 million dollars, showing a downward trend.
