This time, our guest on the “Successful Faces” programme is Afghan student Safia Hosseini, currently in Germany. Safia was born in Kabul in 2003 and moved to the Czech Republic at the age of three.
She completed her primary and secondary education up to the ninth grade in the Czech Republic. Later, her family moved to Germany, and she is set to graduate from college in that country in 2024.
While universities are closed to girls in Afghanistan, Hosseini has successfully gained admission to the Queen Mary University of London, Faculty of Law, through her own merit and exams.
She chose this faculty to enhance her academic knowledge in order to fight for the rights of women and children in Afghanistan.
Safia is an active advocate for the rights of women and children and has participated in important United Nations conferences to raise the voices of Afghan children.
Additionally, she is fluent in Pashto، Dari، English، Czech، German، Slovak and Spanish.
