The entire region is in a dangerous situation, Iran says, asking the countries concerned to do all they can to stop Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon.
Iranian Foreign Minister Sayyed Abbas Araghchi said this at a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani in Baghdad.
A statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry said: “Referring to his trips to Beirut and Damascus, Araghchi stressed that the entire region is in a dangerous situation, so all of the regional countries should work to stop the Zionist regime’s crimes and aggression on Gaza and Lebanon.”
Al-Sudani also emphasised on his country’s support to the people of Palestine and Lebanon against Israeli aggression.
The statement added: “Al-Sudani highlighted the importance of strengthening consultations between Iran and Iraq and with other regional countries in this critical situation to prevent the region from falling into the abyss of a full-scale conflict.”
He underlined the need for serious action by the international community in this regard, as well as the determination of the Iraqi nation and government.
“He promised to continue supporting the people of Palestine and Leban genocide and aggression of the Zionist regime.”
After the Iranian missile attack on Israel, Araghchi has travelled to Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Qatar for talks on escalating tensions in the Middle East.
