At least seven students were injured in a clash between two groups at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, Pakistan.
According to Mashaal Radio, the clash occurred between Pashtun and Punjabi students on Thursday evening.
The report noted that five students were hospitalized for treatment.
Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported a total of seven injuries. During the fight, several rooms were set on fire, but the Capital Development Authority (CDA) firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.
A senior police official confirmed that tensions have de-escalated, and police are working to vacate the hostels as per government orders.
The QAU administration issued a notification stating that boys’ hostels will remain closed from October 11 to 20 due to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
