At least two Chinese nationals have been killed and 10 Pakistanis wounded in an explosion in the port city of Karachi, a media report said on Monday.
The explosion took place near the Jinnah International Airport in the metropolis on Sunday night at 10:00pm, the BBC reported.
It said the blast targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers working on a power project in the Pakistan’s Sindh province.
The report added two Chinese nationals lost their lives and 10 Pakistanis were wounded in the overnight blast.
The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, which also confirmed the attack, said the engineers were part of the Chinese-funded enterprise Port Qasim Power Generation Co Ltd, which aims to build two coal power plants, near Karachi.
The separatist Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which has in recent years carried out attacks on Chinese nationals on such projects, claimed responsibility for the blast.
