More than 490 people, including over 90 women and children, have been killed as a result of Israeli strikes on Lebanon, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.
It said 492 people, including 35 children and 58 women, were killed and 1,645 others injured in the deadliest barrage since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war.
“The Israeli military warned residents in southern and eastern Lebanon to evacuate ahead of its widening air campaign against Hezbollah,” it added.
The report said: “Thousands of Lebanese have fled the south.”
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has travelled to New York to attend the annual United Nations General Assembly.
He condemned Israel’s attacks on Lebanon and accused Tel Aviv of trying to expand the ongoing war in the Middle East.
