At least 52 workers have been killed and 20 others wounded as a result of an explosion inside a coalmine in Khorasan province of neighbouring Iran.
Tasnim News agency reported that the explosion occurred late on Saturday in a coal mine in Tabas region of Iran.
The report added that 20 people injured in the incident were taken to hospitals.
Local officials said the explosion occurred due to the “immediate emission of methane gas” and involved at least two blocks “C” and “B” of this mine.
According to the report, at the time of the accident, 69 workers were working in block “C” and “B” of this coal mine in Tabas.
