Security forces have arrested two persons while possessing six birds they illegally hunted in central Bamyan province, an official said on Wednesday.
Environment Protection Director Mohammad Ibrahim Dadfar told Pajhwok Afghan News the six hunted eagle-type birds were released into their natural habitat today.
According to him, the two men were arrested while hunting birds in Sheibar area and they have been given in custody to relevant organs for more investigation.
He emphasized the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan had banned hunting of birds and wild animals.
He said they had informed people about the ban on hunting of birds. Hunting and smuggling is considered a crime.
