An Afghan athlete is set to meet his Austrian counterpart in the judo contest at the ongoing Paris Olympic Games today (Tuesday).
The National Olympic Committee and General Directorate of Sports wrote on its X handle Ahmad Samim Faizzada would take on his Austrian rival Wachidbur Chashueli this afternoon.
The Paris Olympics Games commenced on Friday and around 10,500 athletes from different countries are participating in the event.
A six-member contingent of Afghan athletes, half of them girls, is taking part in the mega event.
Earlier, Afghan cyclist Yulduz Hashimi had secured 26th position in women’s individual time trial at the Paris Olympics.
