Eight members of a family were killed and another injured after the roof of a house collapsed in central Parwan province, officials said on Saturday.
In a statement, the governor’s office said the incident occurred when the roof of a house collapsed in Kheshk valley of Baghandak village in Siyagard district on Friday night.
Meanwhile, Mawlawi Abdul Aleem Afzali, head of the natural disaster preparedness department, said the victims included women, children and men.
According to Afzali, the collapse was caused by heavy and continuous rainfall in recent days and relevant authorities have taken steps to assist the affected family.
