The President of the European Commission has called for the start of negotiations with Iran and a de-escalation of tensions to end the war.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Ursula von der Leyen said that now is the time for the parties to return to the negotiating table and end hostilities.
She added that the current situation is having serious effects on the global energy supply, with consequences such as rising oil and gas prices being felt by businesses and communities alike.
The European Commission President emphasised that reaching a negotiated solution is crucial for ending the conflict and ensuring stability.
Reports indicate that since the start of the war between the US and Israel with Iran, at least 2,231 people have been killed in Iran, around 1,039 in Lebanon and 60 in Iraq. Additionally, 16 people have died in Israel and 13 US citizens have also been killed.
