Imports of one-day-old chicks have resumed from neighbouring Iran to Afghanistan through the Dogharoon crossing after a one-year halt, a media report said on Wednesday.
IRNA News Agency reported that Hossein Jamshidi, administrative chief Taybad district in Khorasan province, stated on Tuesday that the chicks had been exported in 11 consignments via the Dogharon border crossing.
He added that the export of livestock and various animal products through Dogharon has generated significant revenue for Iran.
Health certificates for the exported chicks are issued by the Livestock and Animal Health Department of Taybad district.
Jamshidi emphasised that if any violations are detected, permission to transport livestock consignments will be withheld.
