The President of the United States has reacted to the public protests in Iran, saying that if the Iranian government opens fire on protesters, the United States will come to “rescue” them.
Donald Trump, the U.S. President, wrote today (Friday) in a post on X that the United States is prepared for such a situation.
He stated: “If Iran shoots at peaceful protesters and violently kills them—as is their practice—the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are ready.”
It is worth noting that since the beginning of this week, Iran has witnessed protests by its citizens over the rise in the price of the dollar and the cost of goods.
Earlier, Fatemeh Mohajerani, the spokesperson for the Iranian government, said during her weekly press conference, referring to the formation of protest gatherings in some parts of Tehran and other areas: “We recognize the protests; the government will also listen to harsh voices.”
