The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) says more than 300 Afghan refugees have been released from prions in Pakistan and returned to their homeland.
In a statement, the ministry said that 305 Afghan migrants had been freed from various jails across the neighbouring country and returned to Afghanistan during the current week.
Citing the Refugee Transfer Department in Spin Boldak crossing in southern Kandahar province, the statement added the individuals had been detained in different parts of Pakistan and spent one to two months in prisons.
After being registered and receiving humanitarian assistance from partner organisations, the returnees were transported to their native areas, the ministry concluded.
