Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has advanced to the final of the Asian Games after an emphatic victory over Thailand.
On Tuesday night, at the main hall in Manama, the Afghan U-17 players delivered a dazzling performance, defeating Thailand with a commanding 9–1 scoreline.
Coached by Behrooz Jafari, the Afghan side dominated the match from start to finish, once again demonstrating their technical and tactical superiority.
Afghanistan, which had earlier advanced to the knockout stage as Group A leader following consecutive wins over Uzbekistan, Bahrain and China, continued its strong form — launching relentless attacks and maintaining solid defense to overcome Thailand, the second-placed team from Group B.
With this decisive victory, the Afghan team secured a place in the final, where they will face Iran’s U-17 national futsal team.
Meanwhile, Iran reached the final after defeating Uzbekistan 14–2 in the semifinals.
The championship match between Afghanistan and Iran is scheduled to take place on Thursday evening in Bahrain.
