At least 46 people have been killed in a major road accident in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, a media report said on Thursday.
The collision took place just after midnight (21:00 GMT on Tuesday) near the town of Kiryandongo, about 263 kilometres (163 miles) from Kampala. The crash happened when two buses travelling from opposite directions tried to overtake a truck and a car, Al Jazeera reported.
It said that at least 46 people lost their lives in the mishap.
The Kampala–Gulu Highway is one of Uganda’s busiest roads, linking the capital with the largest town in the north of the country.
