Pakistan has temporarily reopened the Spin Boldak-Chaman crossing for returning Afghans, an official in southern Kandahar province said on Friday.
The crossing remained closed since last week’s fierce clashes between Afghan and Pakistani security forces that left dozens dead and wounded on both sides.
The gate was reopened on Friday morning for returning Afghans, a reliable government source told Pajhwok Afghan News.
However, the route remains closed for trade and movement of passengers.
Earlier, Spin Boldak information official Hafiz Ali Mohammad Haqmal had said Afghanistan had never closed the Spin Boldak-Chaman crossing and Pakistan always looked for excuses to shut the Friendship Gate.
