Afghanistan’s national football team is set to face Pakistan today (Tuesday) in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
The decisive match will kick off at 7:30pm local time at the Ali Subah Al-Salem Stadium in Kuwait, with Afghanistan designated as the host side.
The national squad held their third training session on Monday night at Farwaniya Stadium as part of their final preparations for the clash.
The first leg, played last week in Islamabad, ended in a goalless draw, leaving both teams in a tight spot in the group standings.
So far, Afghanistan and Pakistan have each collected only one point from three matches.
The earlier encounter was marred by challenges, including delays in visa issuance for Afghan players, which led most members of the team to arrive in Islamabad on the day of the match.
In the ongoing Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers, Afghanistan have faced Syria, Myanmar and Pakistan, recording two defeats and one draw to date.
