Three Afghan Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters Ahmad Wali Hotak, Farid Basharat and Abdul Karim Badakhshi are facing opponents from Dagestan, the United States and France, respectively.
Ahmad Wali Hotak wrote on his Facebook page that he will face a strong rival from Dagestan on October 11 at the International Sambo Center, in a central bout for the organization’s championship belt.
Hotak said his Dagestani opponent is very powerful and has never lost a fight. “It will be a tough challenge, but I am determined. With limited resources, I rely on my faith, hard work and the support of my people to take this big step,” he added.
Hotak has fought 12 professional matches, winning 11 and losing one.
The match will be held at the International Sambo Center.
Meanwhile, Afghan MMA fighter Farid Basharat will compete tomorrow in the UFC against Chris Gutierrez of the United States. Basharat has so far fought 13 bouts, winning all without defeat.
Similarly, Afghan fighter Abdul Karim Badakhshi announced on his Facebook page that after a year’s break, he will return to the ring today in Cognac, France, to compete in the KOC 18 event.
He said the bout will take place in the 62kg category against French opponent Giovanni Fernandez.
