The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and a number of leading cricket players have congratulated their countrymen on celebrating 106th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Today, August 19, marks the 106th anniversary of the country’s independence.
The ACB in a press release said: “The leadership, players and all employees of the cricket board extend their congratulations and best wishes to all our countrymen on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the independence of our beloved country.”
It said Afghanistan and Afghans faced all kinds of difficult circumstances, but they did not lose hope, rather regained their independence and stability with their strong will and determination.
“We showed the world that Afghanistan is a united, independent and undividable country.
Rashid Khan, spin sensation and captain of the Twenty20 team, wrote on his Facebook page: “106 years ago today, our ancestors won the freedom and independence of our beloved Afghanistan from British colonialism. Happy Independence Day to our beloved Afghanistan.”
Similarly, another leading cricketer, Mohammad Nabi Isakhel, also wrote on his Facebook page: “Dear countrymen! Happy 106th anniversary of regaining independence. May Afghanistan always be peaceful and prosperous.”
Another leading cricketer, Gulbadin Naib, also congratulated all countrymen on the 106th anniversary of regaining the country’s independence.
