Pakistani and US officials have emphasized joint cooperation against terrorism during “counter-terrorism” talks in Islamabad.
The talks were chaired by Pakistan’s Special Representative to the United Nations Nabil Munir and US State Department Interim Coordinator for Counter-Terrorism Gregory de Logarfo, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It said both sides discussed effective solutions to threats, especially from the Balochistan Liberation Army, ISIS-K, and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
They announced their intention to cooperate closely in multilateral forums, including the United Nations, in order to create effective and sustainable solutions in the fight against terrorism.
Both sides emphasized that “continuous and structured engagement to combat terrorism” and promote peace and stability in the region was of vital importance.
