A new survey, conducted by Leger for The Canadian Press, shows the federal Liberals leading the Conservatives 44 per cent to 38 per cent, marking a significant shift in voter support since Mark Carney became Liberal leader on March 9. The NDP has dropped to just 6 per cent.
Nearly half of Canadians surveyed (48 per cent) believe the Liberals will win the upcoming election, while only 31 per cent think the Conservatives will.

The poll conducted March 21–23, suggests a growing gap driven by concerns over Donald Trump’s tariffs and threats, with voters seeing Carney as better suited to handle U.S. relations. He leads Pierre Poilievre 39 per cent to 28 per cent as the preferred prime minister.
The Liberals are ahead in Ontario, B.C., Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. Conservatives lead in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Both Carney and Poilievre made housing policy pledges, while NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh accused them of driving up housing costs.
