The Torkham crossing remained shut for all types of movement for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday, officials said.
Several rounds of talks have been held with the Pakistani side, but so far, they have yielded no results, according to authorities in eastern Nangarhar province.
Pakistan shut the main land route five days ago in response to Afghan forces constructing a checkpoint near the Zero Point on the Durand Line.
Pakistani officials have reportedly linked the reopening of the crossing to a halt to these construction of the facility.
Torkham-based information officer Arafat Mohajir told Pajhwok Afghan News the key crossing remained closed today (Wednesday).
He urged travelers, patients, and truck drivers to avoid travelling to Torkham until further notice.
A large number of stranded passengers, patients and trucks loaded with commercial goods have been waiting on both sides for clearance.
Mohammad Rafiq, who travelled to take an an ailing relative to Pakistan for medical treatment, complained they had been stranded at a Torkham hotel due to the route closure.
He urged the Pakistani government to consider the hardships being faced by travellers, including patients and businesspeople.
Meanwhile, Nangarhar officials said they were striving to address the issue of reopening the crossing point through negotiations with Pakistan.
