About 894 people inhaled gas and among them 24 people lost their lives this winter season in the country, an official said on Saturday.
Ministry of Public Health spokesman Dr. Sharafat Zaman said 984 people were brought to hospitals across the country after inhaling gas and 24 of them died.
The dead people included 15 men and women, he added.
He urged people to exercise caution when using gas stoves.
Yesterday, eight members of a family suffocated in Samangan province.
