At least 66 people have died as a result of a traffic accident in the Sidama state of southern Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, authorities said on Monday.
The Guardian quoted Ethiopian officials as saying four of the injured were transferred to a local hospital for medical treatment. The cause of the accident is yet to be known.
Without going into details, the Sidama regional health bureau wrote on Facebook the accident at Gelana bridge in Bona Zuria Woreda had claimed the lives of 66 people so far.
Ethiopia, with a population of 117 million people, is the twelfth most populous African country.
