At least two people, including a child, were killed after a car drove into crowds at a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg.
At least 68 other people were injured, including 15 who were left in a critical state, according to the city government.
The suspect, a 50-year-old Saudi doctor, is believed to have acted alone, the BBC reported.
The arrested suspect, having the Saudi citizenship, came to Germany in 2006 and worked as a doctor.
