The working group of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) on Afghanistan in its 40th meeting has pledged continued coordination in monitoring the situation in Afghanistan, a statement said on Friday.
The 40th meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Ministerial Council was held with the participation of the CSTO Deputy Secretary General S. Ordabayev and the CSTO Deputy Secretary General T. Masadykov.
The event was also attended by delegations of the Organization’s member states and representatives of the UNOCT, the UNRCCA, the CIS ATC, the Coordination Service of the CIS Council of Commanders of Border Troops, the SCO RATS, and the ICRC.
There was a thorough exchange of views on the situation in Afghanistan. The Working Group will continue its work to help coordinate the activities of the CSTO member states in monitoring the situation in Afghanistan and establishing peace processes in Afghanistan.
At the end of the meeting, the minutes of the meeting and the Group’s work plan for the first half of 2025 were adopted.
