The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is set to meet on the Afghanistan situation tomorrow (Thursday).
The UN mission wrote on its X handle: “UNAMA head Roza Otunbayeva will brief the 15-member council on the situation in #Afghanistan tomorrow, Thursday, 12 December.”
It said the session would commence 7:30am Afghanistan time.
Ambassador Andrés Montalvo Sosa (Ecuador), in his capacity as the chair of the 1988 Afghanistan Sanctions Committee, an official from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and a representative of civil society are also expected to brief the meeting.
