Fourteen Afghans have been released from jails in Pakistan, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said on Tuesday.
In a statement, MoRR said the 14 individuals were freed from different prisons after spending 15 days to three months, following efforts by Afghan officials.
“These Afghans had been detained for lack of legal stay documents,” it said.
According to the ministry, after being released by Interpol, the prisoners returned through Torkham border and were introduced to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for assistance.
