A former student went on a stabbing rampage at a vocational college in eastern China, killing eight people and injuring 17 others.
According to Reuters, the knife attack occurred at the Wuxi Vocational College of Arts and Technology in Yixing, located in Wuxi city within the eastern province of Jiangsu.
The 21-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and has reportedly confessed to the crime, as confirmed by police.
On the same day, authorities in the southern city of Zhuhai announced that they had charged a 62-year-old man who allegedly drove his car into a crowd outside a sports stadium, resulting in the deaths of 35 people and injuries to 43 on Monday night.
In both incidents, police indicated that the suspects resorted to violent acts against unrelated bystanders following personal economic losses, although further details remain limited.
