Republican candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday defeated Vice President Kamala Harris to secure a second term in the White House, Fox News reported.

With more than 90 percent of the ballots counted, he has a lead of more than 200,000 votes over Kamala Harris in the state, The Times reported earlier in the day.
The former president, following a bitter campaign, romped home in Wisconsin and Michigan states. He finished with 279 votes and his Democratic rival with 224 , each eyeing the magic figure of 270 electoral college ballots.
The Republican runner is leading in six of the seven battleground states that hold the key to the White House. He has overtaken Harris in North Carolina, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia.
After a four-year wait, the Republican Party regained the majority in the Senate, securing seats in Ohio and West Virginia and successfully defending their candidates in Texas and Nebraska.
CNN and AP projected Harris to take California, a state with the highest number of electoral votes, Oregan, Hawaii, Washington and New Mexico.
