The Russian president and the UN secretary-general will discuss the Middle East and Ukraine crises and important international issues after the BRICS summit in Kazan.
Representatives from 40 countries, the member states of the BRICS bloc including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, are attending the three-day summit in the Kazan city of Tatarstan Republic.
According to VOA, President Vladimir Putin will meet UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS summit.
Apart from UN activities, Putin and Guterres would discuss the crises in the Middle East, Ukraine and some important international issues, the report stated.
The UN is yet to comment on the meeting but the deputy spokesman for the secretary-general confirmed to reporters in New York that Guterres would participate in the BRICS summit.
