The dead bodies of seven Afghans, who were killed in an armed attack on a coalmine in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province last week, have been handed over to their families.
At least 20 miners, including the Afghans, were killed and seven others injured in the attack on the private coalmine in the Daki district of the province on Thursday night.
Taliban had vehemently denounced the assault.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said the consulate in Quetta had been directed to provide necessary facilities for the transfer of the Afghans’ bodies to their homeland.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad announced that seven Afghans had been killed in the attack.
The embassy wrote on its X handle the dead bodies of three of them were handed over to the bereaved families in Quetta and four at the Spin Boldak crossing.
The embassy asked the Pakistan government to arrest and punish the assailants.
