At least 13 people were killed and 16 others wounded in natural disasters in eight provinces of the country in last 10 days, an official said on Wednesday.
Maulvi Abdullah Jan Sayeq, spokesman for the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), said in a video clip initial reports suggested 13 people lost their lives and 16 others were wounded in flash floods, lightning and fires.
The deadly incidents occurred in southern Ghazni, eastern Nangarhar, western Farah, Badghis, Herat, southeastern Paktia and central Daikundi provinces from September 22 to October 2.
He said about 109 residential houses were also destroyed during the period. He added 325 acres of land were also damaged in the natural disasters.
He added NDMA had distributed food, non-food and cash aid to nearly 40,000 affected families in last three months with the cooperation of international institutions.
