Shots were fired in Florida state near Donald Trump’s Golf Club while former US president was playing golf, says a media report.
According to the BBC, policemen have arrested a suspect. Trump is said to be safe and unharmed.
Security forces opened fire on a suspect trying to flee the area. They recovered a scoped AK-47 type rifle from nearby bushes.
An official of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said: “Apparently, it was another failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump.”
Vice President and presidential runner Kamala Harris said she was happy that Trump escaped unharmed. There was no place for violence in the US, she added.
On July 13, a man opened fire on Trump while he was addressing an election campaign rally. Trump’s ear was injured in the attack.
