The first shipment of Afghanistan’s minerals has been exported to China via Iran’s Chabahar port, a media report said on Friday.
IRNA reported Hussain Shahdadi, deputy administrative head of Sistan Balochistan’s ports, saying: “Today, the first transit shipment comprised of 12 lorry Afghanistan’s stones exported to China from Chabahar Port, the shipment arrived to the port via Malik border crossing from Nimroz province.”
He said: “Chabahar port, connected to the open waters of the Indian Ocean, has a good location for trade, transportation, transit and transshipment of goods, and is the best and cheapest route for trade and transit to the countries of Central Asia, especially the neighboring country of Afghanistan.”
Shahdadi said that the port of Chabahar with an annual unloading and loading capacity of more than 8.5 million tons is a unique opportunity for Afghan investors and businessmen.
