Afghanistan and Australia are all set to square off in their second super eight match in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tomorrow (Sunday) at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent.
The match will commence at 5:00am Afghanistan time, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) wrote on its Facebook page.
Afghanistan are placed in Group A in super eight stage alongside with India, Australia and Bangladesh.
The Rashid Khan-led squad desperately needs a victory to remain hopeful of the semi-final spot after losing their first Super Eight match against India in Barbados.
Unbeaten so far, the Mitch Marsh-led Australian side will be eyeing to seal a spot in the semis after winning the match against Afghanistan.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz is in red-hot form and he needs to play at least the first eight overs. Other Afghan batters also need to step up and contribute to their batting.
Fazalhaq Farooqi is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 15 wickets in five matches. Rashid and Noor Ahmad have been brilliant so far.
Afghanistan will take on Bangladesh in their final encounter at the super 8 stage on June 25 at the same venue.
