Two Afghanistan football players Najm Haidari and Hussain Zamani have returned to the team, the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) announced on Monday.
AFF spokesman Mustafa Hashimi said the two athletes had joined the side and would participate in the national squad’s training camp in Saudi Arabia.
Afghanistan will take on Kuwait and Qatar in the second round of the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the 2027 Asian Cup.
Earlier, some players, including their captain, had accused the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) of financial corruption and announced their boycott of matches.
Afghan skipper Faisal Shaista, players Omid Popalzi, Rahmat Akbari, Imran Haidari, Najm Haidari and several others had announced their boycott.
AFF president Mohammad Yousuf Kargar had rejected their claims as baseless and far from true.
